625 @  The Movies

Tuesday's Movie - 2:00 p.m. - October 25

A true Story of Survival! This movie earned Naomi Watts nominations for Academy Award for Best Actress, the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress -Motion Picture Drama and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.

In December 2004, close-knit family Maria (Naomi Watts), Henry (Ewan McGregor) and their three sons begin their winter vacation in Thailand. But the day after Christmas, the idyllic holiday turns into an incomprehensible nightmare when a terrifying roar rises from the depths of the sea, followed by a wall of black water that devours everything in its path. Though Maria and her family face their darkest hour, unexpected displays of kindness and courage ameliorate their terror.

Poppy Campaign

The annual Poppy Campaign begins on the last Friday in October and runs until November 10th.

Virtual Poppy Drop on Parliament Hill

Door-to-Door campaign will take place on Saturday, October 29. Be at the Legion between 8 and 9 am to pick up a route map and tray of poppies. A hot lunch will be provided as usual.

Jack Lemyre will be looking for people to man the tables at the various businesses in the village for the annual poppy campaign – we have lost several members the past year and there are several more who are physically unable to do it.

The branch Remembrance Dinner will be on Saturday, November 5 with the Munster ceremony on November 6 and the Richmond ceremony on November 11.

Membership renewal cards are in and available Monday and Friday mornings at the branch.

Dues remain at $45.

Volunteering @ The Legion

We are always looking for volunteers to help us out at the Legion. This is also a great way for students to earn the volunteer hours they need for school. Click here for more information.
